New setting in the Backoffice and CTA for Pages

1. Setting in the back office

Allow company pages to export their data allows owners of company pages, including page administrators and their authorised admins, to export data related to their organisations’ LinkedIn pages using the Page Data Portability API. In other words, their data can be used by third parties unknown to you!

You can specify whether the owners of pages you interact with can export information from your profile and your individual interactions. Fortunately, this setting is switched off by default!

To enable it, follow this link: https://www.linkedin.com/mypreferences/d/settings/data-export-by-page-admins

Click on the OFF button and you activate the option to pass on your data to third parties! Think carefully about whether you really want to do this.

If the setting is enabled and you interact with an organisation’s page (e.g. follow or mention the page or comment on or respond to the page’s post), the organisation may be able to export some of your profile information along with these interactions.

CTA for company pages

LinkedIn moved the call-to-action button to the expandable area. This refers to the “customised button”. If you are currently using this as a CTA for your page visitors, it got moved to the background.

If you are a page administrator, you should keep an eye on this.
