1. More comfort with the LinkedIn app

Do you use the LinkedIn APP for your daily work on LinkedIn? How often do you see an interesting post and then can’t find it? That’s over now! Save the post using the 3 dots in the top right-hand corner and then click on your profile picture in the top left-hand corner of the app to call it up again later. Now you can find the saved post immediately in the APP view and no longer have to go to your profile and then to the resources. Voilá, it can be that easy when a developer realises this!

2. Following gets a new ‘look’

As you have probably already read in some of my newsletter issues, ‘following’ plays an important role on LinkedIn. At the moment of connecting, you follow each other automatically or you select an interesting person and follow that person. For both actions, a grey bell was displayed in the top right-hand corner of the ‘followed’ person’s profile. Many people did not know how to use the bell and what content they could now see. LinkedIn has come up with a new display for this.

· With the grey bell you now get ‘Most relevant’ posts in your feed.

· With the double bell you can see all of the person’s posts.

· With the white crossed-out bell, you stop listening to the person.

I find this display much better and clearer. You can also check out my older posts on the subject of following.

3. Attracted to gaming

Two months ago, there was already a buzz on the LinkedIn network that there would be games on the platform. Now they are here! Very prominent in the right-hand column of your newsfeed and under the contact requests. Only one game is currently available in German-speaking countries. If you switch to English as the navigation language, you will already see three games. The aim is to keep users on the platform for longer. What do you think? Will you play online on LinkedIn?

4. Featured posts on your LinkedIn Company Page

LinkedIn Page Super admins can now select up to three posts to feature front-and-center on your Page. These posts will appear in the Featured section of your Page’s Home tab. This is in addition to the existing ability to Pin a post atop your Page’s feed.

Got a piece of content you’re really excited about? Maybe a podcast episode you want to build awareness around? Give it the visibility it deserves. Click here to find simple instructions for managing your Featured posts.

5. Boost your profile with ‘projects’

Perhaps you have not yet discovered this option for yourself or have not even seen it. Spice up your profile if you are or have been involved in projects.

This is a good way to showcase your achievements, the projects you have been involved in and your role in them.

This can be used in a variety of ways. You can:

🛑 A custom URL. So if someone is interested in working with you or hiring you, you can send them this URL to show the projects you’ve worked on.

🛑 The projects are added individually and each project can be given a name or an explanatory title.

🛑 A description of up to 2000 characters can be filled in, in which you describe the project in detail.

🛑 It is possible to add skills.

🛑 A media area where you can insert images, links and PDFs, but no native videos, only those hosted on YouTube or Vimeo. The small thumbnails make the project visible and give it energy.

🛑Add other project members. Their faces are displayed in small circles, but without names or individual information about them or their role in the project.

For example, if you were involved in multiple projects in one role, this would be a good way to show these projects and the associated skills individually. You may not see this information in the work experience section, but if you scroll down your profile, you can see it because it’s a separate section.

Among other things, this is ideal for freelancers who work with different clients on different projects, and a great place to share client stories
